The Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results released by the National Examination Council (NECO) on friday showed that Ekiti is gradually taking back their rightful position.

It was reported that Ekiti state lead others with
a whooping percentage of 96.48% followed by Kastina state with the percentage of 72.59%.
This feat can be attributed to the governor of Ekiti state for his wonderful policies towards improving education in the state.
From 26% performance in West African Senior School Certificate Examination in 2014, Ekiti state had 36.5% in 2015 and becoming the 42% in 2016. Ekiti state became 11th in 2016 in the federation and second in the South West.
However, Ekiti state performance in NECO 2016 was 10th with 74.5%
Speaking on the results, professor Charles Uwakwe who is the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO announced the result at Minna, Niger state said that 1,022,474 candidates that sat for the examination, 905,011 recorded credits and above in five subjects.
Prof Charles Uwakwe added that this years result showed a remarkable improvement in the performance of the candidates that sat for the examination.
